111 Protecting a Data Center

Session 111
Track(s): Architecture/Engineering/Design, Crime/Loss Prevention, Homeland Security, Information Assets/Information Technology, Physical Security
When: Wednesday, September 23, 2009, 11:00 am - 12:00 noon
The public has little knowledge of either the value of information or the speed at which it is accessible. The security of data centers—large facilities housing rows of servers attached to a backbone with connection speeds calculated in milliseconds—is so important that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has given it a CI/KR ranking. Discuss the physical security methods, technologies, and protocols in use today.

Speaker(s):
Joseph McDonald, CPP, PSP
Chief Security Officer, Switch Communications Group

Sponsored by ASIS Physical Security Council and the Information Systems Security Association
